Bio
Juanita is a psychologist, photo-documentist, researcher and writer from Queensland, Australia. She completed her PhD at Queensland University of Technology in the field of unemployment and psychological well- being, and her Master of Visual Arts in Photodocumentary from the Queensland College of Art on quality of life and mental illness.
Her academic career has resulted in 41 publications in refereed journals and book chapters, 32 presentations at national and international conferences, 10 successful grant applications and awards, 5 government consultancies and 2 photographic exhibitions.
She has a strong interest in historical and social investigations and uses image and text to bring them to life. Her latest project is researching ‘found images’ from WW2 in Papua New Guinea to explore the war journey and daily lives of servicemen.
